Launch of the play Captives (Embrigadés) in Montreal
The collective Les Pentures launched its project, Captives (Embrigadés), in Montreal. Following a two-year-long collaboration between the CPRLV and the collective Les Pentures, the play Captives (Embrigadés) was created as an education and prevention tool geared towards school and community environments. Drawing its inspiration from real stories and real-life events, Captives (Embrigadés) permits us to see radicalization from a humane and intimate perspective, and helps create spaces for the discussion of both radicalization and the polarization of ideas. The Canadian Commission for UNESCO has also been involved with the project since 2018 as a collaborator, as well as the Consulate General of the United States of America in Montreal as a financial partner.
A pedagogical guide (coming soon in English, French version here) for school staff was developed to support the play before and after its performance.
