Global pandemic, conspiracy theories, hate speech, demonstrations and movements: How do we address these current societal issues with young people and older adults? How can we open spaces for discussion that allow for mutual understanding and foster resilience in the face of hate speech? We invite you to consult the CPRLV Educator’s Guide “What If I Was Wrong? When We Talk, We Learn!”, which remains a relevant tool for the various professionals working with youth aged 13 to 35: teachers, youth centre counsellors, day camp counsellors, etc.
In addition to providing you with a simple vocabulary for dealing with the themes of radicalization and hatred of others, some of the activities in the guide will be particularly useful for dealing with these sensitive subjects with young people… and not so young! For example:
Protests and Movements:
I belong everywhere p.21
The popularity contest p. 36
Inclusive theatre p. 43
Can we say anything? p.61
Biased, not biased p. 94
What do they look like? p.106
Conspiracy theories and hate speech:
Twitter account managers p. 56
Here? Impossible p.68
What do they look like? p.106
The butterfly effect p. 118
The news detector p. 134
