Mission abroad : Lebanon

The Centre went for a mission abroad to Lebanon.

The aim of this mission was to establish meetings to develop methods for the prevention of radicalization leading to violence in prisons. The results of these meetings were as follows:

• The Centre will support the Lebanese Ministry of Justice and the United nations office on drugs and crime (UNODC) in the development of tools/support of radicalized individuals in prisons.
  The Centre will help in the development UNODC, social workers and prison authorities, of the risk evaluation grid for radicalization of young prisoners.
• A meeting with Ms Rubina Abu Zeinab, Coordinator for the National Strategy for the Prevention of Violent Extremism, concluded the Centre’s involvement with the Lebanese government in the development of the national counter-terrorism strategy in Lebanon.
• Finally, a meeting with the Director of the Lebanese Ministry of Justice, Ms Mayssam Nouery, concluded that the Centre will train its staff, in terms of prevention.
