New online learning tool: An asynchronous training!
“Radicalization leading to violence: What are we talking about?”
Radicalization leading to violence is a complex phenomenon that is not always easy to identify and understand. This is why the CPRLV, in collaboration with SOFAD, has created a new online learning tool aimed at broadening its mission of education and awareness on the prevention of violent radicalization.
The overall objective of the training is to demystify a certain number of beliefs about radicalization by providing practical knowledge that can be mobilized in your environment, and by giving you the essential keys to understanding the issues involved.
Its asynchronous mode allows anyone to follow and validate learning modules combining theory, activities and case studies on this issue at their own pace. With a maximum duration of 2 hours, this new online learning tool is a good introduction for those who wish to learn about the issue of radicalization leading to violence and its prevention.
A better understanding leads to better prevention!
Specific Objectives:
- Distinguish radicalization leading to violence from other social phenomena;
- Understand the process of radicalization leading to violence and know its components;
- Differentiate between the vulnerability and protective factors of radicalization leading to violence;
- Learn helpful practices for prevention in relation to the phenomenon of radicalization leading to violence.
Duration: 2h
Thanks to the asynchronous format, it is possible to go at your own pace and complete the different modules of the training over several days if you wish.
Target audience: Any public
Prerequisites: None
How to access and register: Contact us at formation@cprmv.org

Discourse and gender based violence
November 20th, 2024
Recent events have shown that the question of gender remains a polarizing issue, open to political instrumentalization by the more conservative parts of the political spectrum and society in general. Indeed, while some politicians and activists are in favor of greater inclusion of gender minorities, the fact remains that reflection on this theme crystallizes forms of hatred and violence within extreme ideologies.
The latter are deeply hostile to any form of discourse or action (scientific, militant, political, or artistic) that questions the traditional vision of gender (the relationship between women and men, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, for example). What’s more, these same ideologies promote, in their own very specific way, a vision centered and articulated around a traditionalist vision of gender conceived as being fixed in time. For some ideologies, this vision fosters hate speech against women, LGBTQ+ people and, more broadly, progressive movements. In some cases, violent acts have been committed in support of this vision of gender.
The aim of this training will therefore be to encourage reflection on the various tensions that can be observed in society around the question of gender, and to shed light on the various manifestations of hatred and violence based on gender within extreme ideologies.
Objectives:
- Understand the issues surrounding the gender question
- Analyze how gender is articulated within extreme ideologies
- Examine the link between extremist discourse and gender-based violence
